Children Born Today Will Live to 120 or More

We are entering a new era of personalized longevity. Children born today are expected to live well past 120. Not only will they live longer, they will maintain excellent health through their various stages of life and experience a quality of life that is unheard of today.

I don’t know about you, but I would like to live as long as possible. Some people feel that life isn’t worth living and have essentially given up – have a death wish – and want to take others with them!

Long life brings more focus onto the quest for meaning and fulfillment. No longer is it enough to pay the bills, get buy, chase the never-ending rate-race. The problem with winning the rat-race is that you are still a rat!

If you knew without a doubt that what you did today would shape your experience in the future, what changes would you make? What would you do to live an extra 20 years?

How Much Did They Pay You to Give Up on Your DREAMS?

This short clip is from the 2009 movie “Up in the Air” starring George Clooney. George’s character is delivering bad news about a layoff.

Dreams. We all have them. When we were children our heads were full of possibility, dreams, and fantasies. Most of us knew no limits, other than what we were told we could or could not do.

As we got older our conditioning from family, friends, society and school brought us down to reality, to what was practical and reasonable. Many of us embarked on careers, expecting them to last a lifetime only to discover that times had changed and we had to change too or become obsolete.

Musing About Romance

Musing about romance
what is it?

Why do so many people associate romance
with sex?

Sensual, sexual, love and affection
These can include romance…

…but they are not substitutes for romance

When you hear an English speaker say it
the sound falls flat

Quality of Relationship = Quality of Life

“Most of what we learn about a relationship is by default, accepting mediocrity, disconnection and unhappiness instead of designing a relationship that fulfills, inspires and brings limitless joy, connection, and intimacy to both partners.”

ryrWhat would happen if you allocated more time to the renewal and regeneration of your relationship? or, if you are single, to prepare yourself for your next relationship?

Most people don’t realize that the quality of your relationships = the quality of your life! There is a direct correlation between a person’s level of happiness, success, financial prosperity, overall wellbeing and their primary relationship.

Money or Relationship: Symptom or Cause?

We have all heard it before. When a relationship fails, it is often stated that money problems caused the failure.

In many cases this is true, one partner loses their job or runs up unknown debts, which leads to relationship disharmony and eventually breakup or divorce. But what if there were a rarely discussed, often avoided cause that preceded the symptoms and was in fact the “real” culprit?

Your Primary Relationship Sets the Tone

Your primary relationship influences and often sets the tone for all other relationships in life… at work, partners, friends, clients, etc. IT ALSO DETERMINES HOW SUCCESSFUL YOU ARE FINANCIALLY.

Most people don’t realize that the quality of their relationships = the quality of their lives. There is a direct correlation between a person’s level of happiness, success, financial prosperity, overall well-being and their primary relationship…

Productivity in a Masculine/Feminine Partnership

In an ideal scene, both partners would equally develop their masculine and feminine characteristics.

The purpose of this article is to highlight one of the oldest and most pervasive dramas that exist between men and women, and to provide a roadmap of what to do to get out of what we refer to as the “plot.”

When we talk of the plot, we are referring to the story or interrelated sequence of events that exists between two or more people. The nature of a plot is that it takes a minimum of two sides in order to exist. When one side decides to exit the plot and takes the necessary steps to do this, the plot can no longer exist. Therefore, if a plot is existing, then both sides are contributing to it.

Who is On Your Team?

The difference between the leader who struggles all the time, has no free time, is surrounded by drama solving crises after crises and the leader who appears to have lots of free time, makes more money each year and seems to have the golden touch — is the team that they are a part of.

You are only as good as your team!

And your team isn’t limited to your employees. Who is on your board of directors? Do you have a formal board of advisors? Do you have a personal mentor or coach? These are people who will tell you what you need to hear versus what you want to hear.

Unless you are willing to be surrounded by people who expect more of you than you do, you will have people telling you what you want to hear and confirming that you are right — when you may be wrong.

Your team can also include your suppliers and customers.

If you aren’t part of a winning team — then you are working too hard.

The leader of the company is the key person whose vision, energy, drive and enthusiasm (or lack of it) is the vital element, Lifeforce, and driving force behind the company and everything it does. A change at the top is reflected throughout the organization.

For most leaders, the responsibilities, fast-paced work environments, and constant challenges create a lot of stress and pressure to perform at higher and higher levels.

Who do you go to for support?

Who do you go to when there are conflicts and upsets with colleagues? How do you balance your work life with your family life? How does the work you take home impact your family?

Most leaders bottle all these conflicting agendas and emotions within themselves, causing additional stress and potential burnout. The world’s best athletes, actors, and musicians all have coaches to fine tune their performance, motivate them, keep them in check and in balance and provide a sounding board for ideas and problem solving.

Likewise, an executive coach can provide you with a competitive edge, sounding board and general counsel for problem solving. Traditional therapists, counselors, and psychologists don’t work for most leaders, as their knowledge of business and organizations is limited.

Optima’s Executive Coaching Service is a very discrete support provided by experienced former executives who are highly trained in leadership, coaching, business and personal development.

How to Feel More Beautiful

True Beauty

What would happen to your life if you surrounded
yourself with all things beautiful?

What does it mean to be beautiful? Beauty is something that we all recognize instinctively. Even three-month-old babies smile longer at faces that appear more attractive.

Most of us would agree that beauty is pleasing to the senses and to be beautiful means to possess qualities that give great pleasure to see, hear, touch, feel or to think about. In other words, these qualities delight our senses.

So seductive are the charms of beauty that we spend huge amounts of money with reckless abandon at the slightest hope of looking younger, fresher, more attractive. This has spawned a huge industry that is often criticized as shallow, self-indulgent and materialistic. Increased mental health issues are blamed on massive advertising spending that encourages an obsession with looks, youth, and attractiveness. Most religions promote a more austere, conservative outlook more focused on the life after death than the pursuit of beauty, seduction and aesthetic.
