Once we have acquired one virtue, it becomes a part of who we are, and we move on to the next virtue.

When you are on a Quest, this is how it works!

Sometime in 2000, I made a list of values and virtues that were important to me. These represented qualities to enhance within me as part of my Quest to be the best person I can be and realize my full potential. By the time I had completed making my list, I had two conflicting thoughts. One was, “Wow, look at how many of these I have already acquired/developed.” The other thought was, “Wow, this is a long list. Am I ever going to be able to do it?”

Towers of Glass, Feet of Clay: What Is the Quest?

I was going throughdubaipaster my travel photographs and saw this picture of a poster at the Dubai Airport advertising the world’s tallest building, which was under construction at the time. The Burj Dubai is very impressive and I was inspired to write more about the towers of glass.

Spiritual Beings

If we are indeed spiritual beings in a physical body, how much time do we spend focusing on our spirit versus time spent on the physical aspects of our lives?

Fully-Realized, Self-Actualized

To be fully-realized, self-actualized means that we have to have alignment between our SPIRITUAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL and PHYSICAL dimensions. Most people are well developed mentally and physically – and are underdeveloped spiritually and emotionally.

The Shadow

We all have a shadow self. Many of us who have worked on ourselves for a long time or who have very religious backgrounds often find it difficult to see the shadow part of ourselves.  This part is less than honest, less than forthcoming has less than pure intentions, etc.

However, the key to becoming a better person is to look at both sides which include all our good qualities and their opposites.
